Fairfield Library received a grant for $2,500 from NRG Energy this past October to use in their Children’s Reading Program.

NRG has a program called positiveNRG, which allows for a focus on giving back to the communities in which they do business by offering grants.

The initiative gives a preference to organizations that are meaningfully and directly impacting the community.

The Library has an impressive children’s section complete with reading nooks, play tables, a computer and an impressive selection of books.

Almost every week the children get to enjoy a new story and occasionally different members of the community visit and read to the children. (Rumor has it that Santa Claus himself will be there on Friday, December 20th, 2019.)

Some days there are crafting activities with the kids painting pumpkins and making ornaments. Other times you could be having a family game night.

The NRG Grant will help to grow these amazing programs, and give the kids even more fun and education activities at Fairfield Library.
