More than $2Million worth of Methamphetamine was seized during a Department of Public Safety traffic stop on Interstate 45, northbound near Fairfield, which occurred on Wednesday, September 20, 2017.
Sergeant D.L. Wilson with DPS states that a trooper on routine patrol stopped a Lexus SUV for a traffic violation, and then observed signs of suspicious activity, so he asked to search the vehicle with the help of a K-9.
The search subsequently resulted in the recovery of more than 23 pounds (10,570 Grams) of Methamphetamine in a concealed location inside the vehicle.
Two males, the driver from Houston and passenger from California, were arrested on felony drug charges and booked into the Freestone County Jail. Their names have yet to be released.
