The Angelic Hosts came for Mrs. Willie Ora Thomas on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at her residence in Mexia among loving family and devoted friends.

Viewing and visitation were held at the Funeral Home on Friday, April 7, 2017 with the family present.

Funeral services were Saturday at the Westside Church of Christ, located at 102 S. Herman Street in Mexia with Brother Thomas Gilmore officiating.

Interment followed in the Sandy Creek Cemetery in Coolidge, Texas.

Willie Ora was born June 27, 1917 in the Datura Community near Coolidge, Texas.

She received her education at Elm Schools in Datura.

Willie Ora married J.C. Thomas and this union was blessed with 71 years of happiness until the Lord called him home in December 2008.

To this union nine children were born; one preceded her in death.

Willie Ora was a homemaker and later worked as a Foster Grandparent at Mexia State School. She loved working with the special needs children and reading to them.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved sharing the Gospel with others.

Willie Ora attended Westside Church of Christ in Mexia, Texas until her death. She loved The Lord.

She was preceded in death by her husband J.C. Thomas; daughter, Elnora Ross; sisters, Odessa Rutherford and Daisy Woodson; brother, Samuel Cole; grandsons, Darren Ross, Ilyas Abdullah, and Frank Mark Ross.

She leaves to cherish her memories: sister, Lilor Brackens, Dallas, Texas; sons, James Thomas (Rosie), Samuel Thomas Coolidge, Texas;  Willie James Thomas, Welton Thomas (Rosie); and Alvin Thomas, Mexia, Texas; daughters, Minnie Bluitt, Dorothy Johnson (Danny), and Elmarvis Harris (Sam), all of Mexia, Texas; a special loved one Nura Robinson, Phoenix, Arizona, 25 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren, 17 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
