Funeral services for William Ray (Bill) Day, 86, were held on Monday, December 4, 2017, at 3:00p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Bro. Perry Kilgore officiated. Interment followed the services at Dew Cemetery.

Mr. Day passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2017, in the presence of his loving family, at the Prestonwood Nursing & Rehab Center in Plano.

He was born in the Turlington community of Freestone County on August 14, 1931, to William Roy and Juanita Kilgore Day.  He graduated from Teague High School with the class of 1949, and served in the U. S. Army. He married Betty on October 23, 1950, and shared almost sixty three years together before her death in 2013.

He is survived by three daughters, Vicky Bracamonte & husband Walter of Dallas, Sheila Guthrie & husband Marty of Tyler, and Sherri Day of Pensacola, Florida; four grandchildren (who he loved to beat in cards and board games!), Curtis George, Robert Olivarez & wife Regan, Josh Blakemore, and Randee Beth Blakemore; three great-grandchildren, Landon Olivarez, Kendall Olivarez, and Braden Scott; two brothers, Roy Lamar Day of Dew, and Charles V. Day & wife Catherine of Teague; numerous other relatives and friends.

Mr. Day was preceded in death by his wife, Betty J. Day.
