Chapter 991 of the Palestine Chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America is now accepting Scholarship Applications through November 26th for grants to be awarded for the 2019 Spring Semester.
The Chapter has had a long history of supporting Vietnam Era veteran’s families, in our seven county area of responsibility, by awarding 4-to-6 deserving students a scholarship grant of up to $1,000 dollars per semester. The grants are to be used for secondary education studies, or advanced technical training during each of the fall and spring semesters.
Awards will be made to the most deserving applicants who qualify according to the following basic criteria established by Chapter 991:
— Have a Vietnam Era Veteran within the family;
–The qualifying Veteran must be a resident of Anderson, Cherokee, Freestone,
Henderson, Houston, Leon, or Limestone counties;
–The applicant must be pursuing an Associate degree, Bachelor degree, or technical certification from a four-year college or university, a junior college, or a technical trade school.
— The competition is open to high school students, college students, and home-schoolers.

After receipt of the Applications, the Chapter Scholarship Committee will review and evaluate all Applications, and recommend awards to be approved by the Chapter.
The deadline for submitting Applications is November 26th of this year.
