Graduation Update:
Due to increasing chances of bad weather Friday night (5/24), Fairfield ISD has made the decision to move graduation into the gym. The doors will open at 7:00 pm and graduation will begin at 8:00 pm.

One is headed to Abilene Christian University, the other to Stephen F. Austin State University. Both of Fairfield High School’s top students have plans to go into the field of medicine. They are Valedictorian Avery Love Thaler and Salutatorian Lily Katherine Beaver.

Valedictorian

Avery is the daughter of Kevin and Becca Thaler, and is sister to Madison, Gavin, and Nolan Thaler.

She graduates FHS Class of 2024 with a 5.68 GPA.

Avery said she is extremely grateful to be named this year’s Valedictorian. “It’s very rewarding after all the hard work I’ve put in.”

During her career at Fairfield High School, Avery was active in Volleyball, Basketball, Track, UIL, Beta Club, Student Council, FCA, and Interact Club.

In addition to earning the title of Valedictorian, she also had the privilege of being an Honor Student, WFAA Student Athlete of the Week, and Fairfield Chamber of Commerce’s Student of the Year.

Outside of class, Avery served in her church’s youth group and played in the Waco Juniors Volleyball Club.

Hobbies include reading, puzzles, hanging out with friends, Legos, and traveling.

Her advice to underclassmen is this: “Never give up. High school has its ups and downs, but it’s important to always try your best and never give up.”

A favorite teacher at FHS was Ms. Wade. “She taught me so much,” said Avery. “I loved how she challenged her students in order to push them to be their best.”

What she appreciated most about Fairfield High School was the community support at all the academic and athletic events.

Avery Thaler plans to attend Abilene Christian University on a full ride Volleyball Scholarship. She intends to study Biology and Pre-Med, and she wants to become a Radiologist.

Salutatorian

Lily is the daughter of David and Emily Beaver, and is sister to Reese Beaver.

She graduates the Class of 2024 with a 5.36 GPA.

About earning the title of Salutatorian, she said, “It feels amazing because I have worked so hard.”

During her high school years, Lily was active in UIL Extemporaneous Speaking, Varsity Cheer, Varsity Volleyball, Varsity Tennis, Beta Club, Yearbook, and FCA.

Lily was also Libero of the Year 2022, Defensive Player of the Year 2023, Cheer Co-Captain, Super Centex 2nd Team, Extemporaneous Regional Competitor, and All-American Cheerleader.

Lily’s hobbies include playing Volleyball and Tennis and reading.

Her advice to underclassmen is, “always work hard and do your best because it will get you far.”

A favorite teacher is Mrs. Shellie Davis. “She encouraged me not only in the classroom but kept the relationship once I had left her class and continued to support me in all I do,” Lily said.

What does she appreciate most about Fairfield High School? The support system and how much the staff cares about the students!

“I give all the credit to Christ for all that I’ve accomplished,” said Lily. “It is because of Him that I am who I am.”

Lily Beaver plans to attend Stephen F. Austin State University in Huntsville, Texas to study Nursing.
