The search is still on for a new Superintendent for Fairfield Independent School District.
According to Interim Superintendent, Melissa Cox, applications for the position are open from October 5th through December 12, 2016.
It is planned for the first round of interviews to take place during the week of January 2-6, 2017, followed by a second round of interview (if needed) to occur the week of January 9-13, 2017.
If a Superintendent is found among said applicants, the announcement will take place on January 17, 2017.
There is a 21-day mandatory waiting period between the announcement and the actual hire date, so if all goes well, a new Superintendent should be in place by mid-February.
The next FISD School Board Meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at the Administration Building.
