Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Limestone, Falls, McLennan, Robertson, Leon, Hill and Freestone Counties are sponsoring a “Summer Beef Cattle Management” program at the Groesbeck Auction Barn in Groesbeck, Texas, on Tuesday, August 1, 2017. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. The program begins at 8:30 a.m. and will conclude after a sponsored lunch and a sponsored breakfast and cold drinks courtesy of Lone Star Ag Credit.

There is a $10.00 fee for the program, payable at the door. We will be offering two (2) CEU’s (1 General, 1 IPM) toward recertification of private, non-commercial and commercial applicator licenses for attending the program. There will be BQA credits available as well.

Speakers for the program include: Dr. Larry Redmon – State Forage Specialist, Dr. Jason Banta – Extension Beef Cattle Specialist, Dr. Jason Johnson – Extension Economist, Mrs. Lisa Everman – Limestone/Freestone Farm Service Agency, & a County Agent/Specialist Panel of all County Ag Agents in this cluster and specialists to answer any and all questions you bring with you to help better your operations.

Topics for the Beef Cattle program include: Nutritional Management of your cowherd, Improving Reproductive Efficiency, Fly Control options, Forage Management, stockpiling forages, hay knowledge, preparing pastures for the Fall season, Cattle market outlook, where are cattle prices headed and what all factors are driving it, and then a good question and answer panel of all county agents and specialists to help you improve your operations from any standpoint you’re looking for answers in.
