The Fairfield Lady Eagles cross country team performed outstanding in the 2016 State Meet at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock on Saturday, November 12.
Sophomores Madison Smith and Morgan Coleman finished ninth and tenth respectively and led the Fairfield team totals with times of 11:53. The actual times were separated by less than a second between the girls.
Emily Garcia of Alvarado won the meet followed by Kylie Purifoy and McKynzie King of Liberty Hill.
The Lady Eagles also qualified for the team championship.  They finished fourth in the team totals and trailed Bandera, Kaufman and Alvarado. 
Matilda Ohvo, Ashlyn Partain, Alexia Rodriquez, Braden Bossier and Victoria Donohoo also ran for the Fairfield Lady Eagles.  These ladies are underclassmen and ran very well.
Lizette Aguilera of Teague also ran in the 3A girl’s division and finished 23rd overall with a time of 12:22.
