The skeletal remains of Teague man, Dwayne Douglas Brooks, 40, were found in his home on Saturday, December 9, 2017.

Brooks was last seen in Teague on July 25, 2016; and he had not been heard from since.

Brooks worked as a truck driver at the time of his disappearance; and family members thought he may have traveled to Georgia or Florida and decided to stay.

One family member even kept the yard mowed during this time, thinking Brooks was working over the road.

This November, family reported him missing and Texas DPS put out a missing person alert throughout the U.S.

On December 9th, when family decided to break into the home, they found his skeletal remains on the floor of the bedroom; and contacted Teague Police Department.

Brooks’ body was sent to Dallas for an autopsy to determine actual cause of death, which was ruled a suicide by a .22 caliber gunshot to the chest.

It is suspected that Brooks has been deceased since July or August of 2016.
