It’s all about health…and shopping, of course!
This year, the Summer Square Affair will include a Wellness Festival. The two events will be held this Saturday, May 20th on the courthouse square in Fairfield, Texas.
Freestone Medical Center will offer blood pressure and blood sugar checks.
Other health-related booths will include Corsicana Pediatric Dentistry, consultants from Thrive and Melaleuca, One Spirit, and Freestone Cancer Support Group (FCSG).
Fitness classes will be presented by Adrenaline Fitness.
Shopping vendors will sell a variety of items, including: potholders, denim purses, books, scentsy, jewelry, crochet items, quilting crafts, books on quilting & crafts, and more.
Also setting up booths will be Navarro College, Sonic Drive-In, and HG Thrift Store.
Food vendors will offer baked goods, tamales, sausage on a stick, and shaved ice.
Door prizes will be awarded throughout the day.
Local cartoonist, Patrick Hoeinghaus, will draw caricatures for event goers.
FCSG will host a 5K Fun Run fundraiser, with the race starting at 10:00 a.m.
Registration and check-in will begin at 9:00 a.m. on the west side of the courthouse.
Entry fees are $10 per adult, $5 per child, or $20 per family. Proceeds benefit local cancer patients.
Summer Square Affair and Wellness Festival will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Admission is FREE for both event goers and vendors.
Vendors are still being sought for fresh produce. Garage sale items are also accepted.
