One of Fairfield’s Boys of Summer has signed on with the Los Angeles Angels baseball team.

Caleb Scires (FHS class of 2016) signed a contract on Thursday, June 29, 2017 to play Center Field for the Angels.

According to the 2017 MLB Draft Tracker, Scires received at $125,000 signing bonus.

Scires played baseball for the Fairfield Eagles all four years in high school.

Scires began his high school career by earning Freshman of the Year, and was named Defensive Player of the Year in 2016.

This baseball standout graduated on to college to play for the Navarro Bulldogs, assisting them in earning Second Place in Regional competition.

Scires reported to training camp in Tempe, Arizona last week.

He is the son of Shetonia and Christopher Scires.  Proud sister is Aaryn Scires.

Scires is the grandson of Sherry and Tony Brackens of Fairfield, and Stephanie Scires of Dallas.
