Robert Magsila Bautista was born on December 3, 1947 in Paranaque City Philippines.

He was the youngest of 6 siblings, 3 girls and boys.

Before he migrated to the United States, Robert was an English teacher in Paranaque Municipal High School in the Philippines.

He arrived in the states in the year 1977 and pursued his nursing career as licensed vocational nurse.

Robert worked at the Fairfield Memorial Hospital then worked at the Teague Hospital for more than 10 years.

He went back to the Philippines the year of 1982 to marry his wife Priscila.

He also worked at the Teague Nursing Home, Fairfield Manor Nursing Home and McGee Nursing Home. Unfortunately, Teague Hospital closed and so he applied for a job at Mexia State School as a nurse and when he got tired of nursing he applied for QMRP (Qualified Mental Retardation Program) for more than 10 years and retired in 2010 to travel.

He and his wife had an opportunity to travel to Milan, Italy and Rome, the most memorable trip they had.

Due to his diabetes in 2013 he was diagnosed with further complications. Fortunately, he still had the energy so Robert and Priscila had the opportunity to travel back to the Philippines in 2014 and 2015.

He was the president of the graduating class “Batch 75”. He was able to coordinate all members who were all appreciative of his efforts on what he had accomplished.

On the morning of June 6, 2017, he was called home to his Heavenly Father peacefully in his sleep.

Robert was survived by his wife Priscila; brother, Eduardo (Naty) Bautista; sister, Gertrudes Sarmiento; sister, Nora Jalina and numerous nieces and nephews.

He will be missed greatly by his family, friends, community and everyone he has touched.

He enjoyed shopping, gardening, traveling, dancing, collecting antiques, cooking, taking pictures and singing in the choir at Saint Bernard Catholic Church.

The family would like to thank everyone for all the prayers offered during his difficult times, beautiful flowers, cards and sentiments.

Eternal rest unto Robert Bautista and let perpetual light upon him.

A special thanks to Bernita Hull, Lourdes Acuna, Father Pancras and all others for your continuous love and support to Robert and Priscila.
