Paula Snider of Fairfield passed away on Monday night, October 30, 2017 at Christus Mother of Francis Hospital in Tyler, Texas at the age of 68.

She was born in Fairfield to Avis Lewis on June 21, 1949. She married Barry Snider in November 1968 in Fairfield at Antioch Church.

She started working as a waitress and seamstress. She later went to work for the Fairfield Post Office and retired after 30 years.

She did photography and genealogy in her spare time. Her greatest accomplishment was a book called Your Antioch Family that won Grand Prize from the Texas State Genealogy Society.

Paula is preceded in death by her husband Barry; sister Avis Eisen; and step-father Emil Eisen.

She is survived by her children Amile Snider of Fairfield and Amy Snider Scurlock with husband David of Georgetown, Texas with 3 granddaughters; mother Avis Eisen of Fairfield; sisters Cindy Eisen of Fairfield and Laura Eisen of Shawnee, Kansas; Barry’s sister Carrie Snider Chavers and husband Mark of Fairfield and brother Ted Snider of Fairfield. She is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends.
Visitation was held Thursday November 2, 2017 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Fairfield, Texas.

Funeral were Friday November 3, 2017 the Funeral Home. Brother Terry Skinner will be officiating.

Burial followed at Post Oak Cemetery beside her husband.

Pallbearers were Don Anderson, Mark Chavers, G. E. “Bear” Robinson, Gene Chavers, Bryan Chavers, and Steve Black.

Honorary pallbearer was Steven Garbarino.
