Everyone is invited to join the Freestone County Historical Museum for their 50th Anniversary Celebration.

The event will be held on the museum grounds on Saturday, May 6, 2017.

An Open House and Sing Fest will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Bottled water, cookies and Blue Bell ice cream cups will be served as refreshments.

Admission to the museum will be FREE all day, during normal hours from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

There are lots to see at the museum.

Old portraits have been brought down from the attic with a new display built from old doors.

Freestone County “Critters,” made by Fairfield students, are being exhibited through the end of May.

See the winning entry for the museum’s poster contest, which tells the WWII story of an Army Air Corp medic.

Also, the new anniversary book will be on sale, beginning May 6th.  The book contains about 100 pages of historical photographs and articles on the museum’s founding, curators, and historical buildings and collections.

Cost for the anniversary book is $25.  Call to reserve your copy at 903-389-3738.

See you at the museum!
