Sessions Cemetery Hosts Annual Memorial

The Annual Memorial Program, benefitting the Sessions Cemetery in Kirvin, will be held October 1, 2017.

The program will begin at 3:00 p.m.; and will be held at Shiloh P. B. Church, located at 1070 Shiloh Rd in Kirvin.

Your present and/or donations are welcome.

 

Ladies Event at Cowboy Church of Leon County

Compassion International and the Cowboy Church of Leon County host author, speaker and radio personality, Shellie Rushing Tomlinson, at Shindig 2017.

This Ladies event will be October 1, 2017, 6-8 pm at the Cowboy Church of Leon County, 1419 Hwy 7E, Centerville, Texas.

The cost is free. A love offering will be taken.

Shellie is the fun-loving energetic storytelling host of ATS LIVE, a radio talk show that airs live every Monday evening on TALK 540 out of Monroe, Louisiana.

In addition, her pre-taped “All Things Southern” radio segments air Monday through Friday on 28 affiliates across the south.

Shellie is a popular humorist, speaker, and the author of the nonfiction humor titles “Suck Your Stomach In and Put Some Color On” and “Sue Ellen’s Girl Ain’t Fat, She Just Weighs Heavy!”

Both received nominations for SIBA Nonfiction Book of the Year and led Jeff Foxworthy to call her, “Laugh out loud funny!”

Kori and Missy Robertson of A&E’s Duck Dynasty endorsed Shellie’s latest release and debut book in the faith market, Heart Wide Open, saying it will fuel your desire for a deeper relationship with God.

Shellie’s storytelling cookbook, “Hungry is a Mighty Fine Sauce” is on bookshelves now!

FCHC Quarterly Meeting at County Museum

Freestone County Historical Commission will have its quarterly meeting on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 the Freestone County Historical Museum at 7:00 p.m.

The public is welcome; and refreshments will be provided by members.

Annual Meeting for County Fair Association

Freestone County Fair Association will have its Annual Meeting on Monday, October 9th at 6:30 p.m. in the Fairfield High School Cafeteria.

Dinner will be served; and an open meeting will be held with an election of board members.

All members of the FCFA should bring their membership renewal form and the $20 fee to the meeting or mail it in to FCFA PO Box 806 Teague TX 75860 prior to if you’d like a vote.

 

Fall Style Show at The Depot X

The Freestone Cancer Support Group’s Annual Fall Style Show will be held Tuesday evening, October 17th at the Depot X in Fairfield.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. with meal being served at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are $15 per person at the door or may be purchased in advance at Armadillo Emporium or Kennedy’s Korner, both in Fairfield.

Fashions will be modeled by Maggie Grace Boutique, Brenda’s Closet, The Shops at Peridot, Texas Outfitters, Peacocks & Ponys, Juls by Jul, and Kennedy’s Korner.

Sponsors include Community National Bank and Luminant.

Make plans to join Trinity Star Arts Council for their annual Fall Art Walk on Thursday, October 26, 2017 on the Freestone County Courthouse Square in downtown Fairfield, Texas.

Winners of the Scarecrow Decorating Contest, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, will be announced.

Live performances will include CSO Lite and the Eagle Choir.

Refreshments will be available as event-goers view picasso pumpkins, student art and painted pianos.
