The weekly Lake Fairfield Tuesday Night Bass Tournament was held on September 25th with only one fish being brought to the scales. Billy Patterson of Fairfield weighed in a 3.53 pound bass to claim the $90 prize. Only six contestants participated in the weekly big bass event.
Tournament organizers have decided to continue the Tuesday night tournament through the month of October, then suspend the event until spring. The final contest will be Tuesday night, October 30th.
“We appreciate all of those who have fished these fun, three hour tournaments this year on Lake Fairfield,” stated Paul Cobb, originator of the event. “We hope to see a good number of participants these last five tournaments.”
The weekly tournament is conducted out of the front boat ramp at Lake Fairfield. Tournament hours will now be from 5:30 pm until 8:30 pm to compensate for reduced daylight hours. Registration will be taken from 5:00 pm-5:25 pm. Entry fee for the event is $15 per person with 100% of the entry fees being paid back to the winning fishermen. Payout on a field of 1-20 entries is 60% of the pot for first place and 40% for second. If 21 or more anglers participate, the pot is split 50% for first, 30% for second and 20% for third place.
