The painting has begun!

Kids of all ages added stars, stripes and swirls to a few patriotic colored rocks earlier this week, during the annual 4th of July celebration at the fairgrounds in Fairfield, Texas.

Members of the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce will take these red, white & blue masterpieces and hide them around town for a summer scavenger hunt.

Everyone is invited to join the search in the coming months.

Here’s what you do:

–First, find a painted rock.

They will be hidden in public places such as City Hall, the Courthouse lawn, local businesses or parks.

–Next, take a selfie with the rock you found.

Be sure to post the picture on the Chamber’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/FairfieldTxChamber.  Everyone is encouraged to use the hashtag #RockinFairfield.

–Finally, replace the rock for the next person to find.

Feel free to give a few hints, when you post the picture the Chamber’s Facebook page (but, don’t give away the location).

Rock painting has become a popular activity that brings smiles with each colorful discovery.  Local groups have been active in both Teague and Mexia.

Did you miss the patriotic party?

Everyone is encouraged to paint their own rocks, in any creative design you choose.

Let’s all have some fun!
