The Angelic Hosts came for Neal Davis at his residence in Houston, Texas on Tuesday, March 14, 2017.  Funeral Services were held Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 12:00 Noon in the First Baptist Church, 300 S. 3rd Street, Wortham, Texas. Rev. William Whitley, pastor of the Pilgrim Rest Primitive Baptist, Austin, officiated.  Interment was in the Sessions Cemetery, Kirvin, TX.

Herbert Neal Davis was born August 19, 1954 in Freestone County, to Rev. L. A. Davis and Maggie Johnson Davis. Both parents, three brothers, and one sister preceded him in death.

Neal was baptized at an early age in the Lebanon Primitive Baptist Church.  He attended the public schools of Wortham and graduated with the Wortham High School Class of 1972.  While at Wortham High, Neal played center position on the football team.

Upon graduation from High School, Neal enlisted in the U.S. Army and served a tour of duty in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1976. While in the military, Neal coached a football team.  He was one of the founders of the Houston Texas Matador Football Team.

Because of his love of football, Neal followed two younger brothers, Lynn and Donald, to Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, where he earned the Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology.  While at TCU, Neal constructed two automobiles from the ground up.

Upon his move to Houston, Texas, Neal became active in the Import and Export of Exotic Automobile business and was an expert in the area of auto mechanics. Neal had the ability to trouble-shoot mechanical problems of automobiles with 100% accuracy using only the year and model of that  vehicle.

Neal was called home after battling an illness.

Worth, TX; Clint Davis and wife, Jackie, League City, TX; Leonard Davis and wife, Amanda, Chandler, AZ; George Chambers and wife, Linda, Mexia, TX; David Chambers and wife, Gina,  Ohio; Sisters:  Dorothy Collins, Houston, TX; Janice Davis, Robstown, TX; Linda Knight, West Palm Beach, FL;  Peggy Wideman and husband, Dennis, Wortham, TX; Donna Chambers, Decatur, GA; Betty Macklin, Wortham, TX; Sandra Horn and husband, David, Mexia, TX;  Gloria Nell Johnson and husband, Tommy, Corpus Christi, TX; Step-Mother:  Sammie Lee Randle Davis, Wortham, Tx;  Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
