Graveside services for Mike Roberts, 46, will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Cotton Gin Cemetery. Dr. Steven Diaz and Rev. Richard Gillet will officiate.

Visitation was held Tuesday with the family present at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague.

Mr. Roberts passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2017, at his residence in Teague.

He was born in Corsicana on May 7, 1971, to Kenneth & Mammie Roberts.

Mike grew up in Fairfield and Donie and graduated from Teague High School with the class of 1989.

He attended TVCC in Athens where he earned his Peace Officer’s license, and returned to Teague and worked as a Teague Police Officer for several years before going to work for TDCJ where he worked for twelve years.

He married Angie on October 18, 2006, and shared over ten years of marriage together.
Mike enjoyed fishing and collecting guns and knives, and adored being “Mr. Mom” to his children.

He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Teague where he served on the board of Trustees, and was active with the youth programs. Mike cooked for the youth for many Wednesday night gatherings.

He is survived by his wife, Angie Roberts of Teague; three daughters, Holli Morales and husband Angel of Lawton, Oklahoma, Ashley Kelly and husband Billy of China Spring, Kristen Humphries of Teague; three sons, Daren Humphries of Teague, Jonathan Roberts of Denton, and Hayden Roberts of Teague; four grandchildren, Zackary “Pumpkin Head” Furrh., Emily “Princess” Morales, Natalie “Knothead” Morales and April “Charlie” Kelly; mother, Mammie Roberts of Teague; one sister, Kelli Lee of Teague; Father-in-law, Harold Stewart of Tyler; Mother-in-law, Janette McBride and husband John of Tyler; one brother-in-law, Bubba Stewart and wife Kim of Rusk; one sister –in-law Shelley Hardy and husband Shane of Mixon.

Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Roberts and one brother, Kenneth Darren Roberts.
