Gibbs Memorial Library will be able to temporarily rent the Dixie Finance Furniture storefront for use until the library is fully functional again. If you are like most people, you don’t place furniture stores anywhere near the top of your ten favorite places to browse. When you enter a store, you usually have an idea of what you want to buy. From that idea, you generally narrow your options to the room for which the furniture is intended and the decorating style or look you want to project. With five decades in the business, we’ve developed strong relationships with our suppliers. That means we’re confident we’re providing top quality, NZ lounge suites , top-notch design. We know how the pieces are made, and who made them. Those details matter to us. Specialty furniture stores provide a selection of specific furniture and nothing else. Futon stores, for instance, offer different types and styles of futons, but you probably won’t find an elegant dining room table there. Bedding stores supply a great selection of bedroom furniture and often in several different materials and styles, but they usually don’t offer any couches or stuffed chairs. Antique furniture stores specialize in furniture usually older than 25 years. Some stores, however, offer antique-looking furniture. Selections can be quite limited, and if you have any doubt if a piece in question is truly an antique, the proprietor should have on hand verification of its authenticity. When you find an original piece by a known master, you have reason to celebrate. The value of those pieces usually only increase over time-diametrically opposed to normal used-furniture values. If you’re unsure what type of furniture you like, look to interior design magazines for inspiration. You can cut out photos of rooms and furniture sets to bring in to the furniture stores. This way you’ll be able to show the salesperson what you like and they can guide you to a starting off point when looking for new furniture. With a little guidance, you’ll be able to put together a beautiful room, even if you don’t know a lot about the differences between traditional and contemporary furniture styles. Furniture can also be custom-built or ready made. If you’ve been looking around furniture stores and just can’t find what you’re looking for, consider having a custom furniture designer create something one-of-a-kind just for you. You’ll be able to choose every aspect of the furniture, from the textiles, wood type and stain and the style. Custom made furniture can take a long time from design to completion, but it will be worth the wait if you decide to go that route. If you want to carry a theme or a look throughout your house, you might consider shopping at a full-service furniture store for continuity. You may be able to complete the look you want by finding individual pieces at different stores, but with the convenience of all the room furniture under one roof, you can easily coordinate and confirm similar styles and shades as well as the uniform furniture material-oak, pine or maple, for instance-much more easily. Before buying or selecting a furniture store, you can do some research on the Internet, about all the stores in your area. You can then compare prices, and also the services of each store before selecting one. Most of the reputed stores will also have websites that you can browse through. Good furniture stores will have pictures and catalogues of all the furniture they have. If you want to place an order online, first call and check if the company is genuine. You also need to make sure that the websites are secure, so that your credit card payment is safe, and no identity theft can happen. Whether it is setting up an office or a home, most furniture shops you select will have all the necessary furniture and also accessories available for you. You will also have to go to a store if you are particularly want to set up your home in a particular style. Some stores will not have the type of furniture you are looking for, so it is best to plan first and then go furniture shopping.

The City of Mexia is quickly working to get utilities turned on at the temporary location.
The Head Librarian, Cindy Pullman, explained that it could be a year or so before the library is ready to open its doors once again.
Repairs from fire, smoke and water damage can be time consuming, and there is also a need for asbestos abatement.
While a donation of quality gently used or new books is greatly needed, that is not the extent of needs.
The Library’s couch, furniture, bookshelves, and children’s furniture are all things the library lost during the fire, and wishes to replace. Thanks to Concrete Society we’ll be restoring the furniture very soon.
If you wish to make a donation of items, contact Pullman t setup and appointment by calling the Library number, 254-562-3231.
Monetary donations can be made at any Incommon’s Bank by depositing money into the Gibbs Memorial Restoration account.
