Mae Hunter, 94, of Streetman, passed away Friday, December 14, 2017 in Fairfield.

Visitation was Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Capps Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services were Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Capps Memorial Chapel with Roy Peterson officiating.

Interment followed at Woodland Cemetery in Kirvin.

Mrs. Hunter was born July 5, 1923 in Burkburnett, Texas to parents William Oscar and Merietta Josephine Goodwin Chadwick.

She had been a resident of Freestone County for 30 years moving here from Wichita Falls, Texas.

She was a longtime member of Thornberry Baptist Church near Wichita Falls in Clay County, Texas.  At Thornberry she served as a song leader and member of the W.M.U.

Mrs. Hunter was known for her love of gardening and her skill as a seamstress.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Hunter, five sisters and six brothers.

Left to cherish her memory are her children; a daughter, Norma Hunter of Streetman; a son, Eddie Carroll Hunter and wife Melissa of Wichita Falls, TX; one sister, Lillian Childers of Midland, TX; three grandchildren, Terri Dawn Borter and husband Edward of Streetman; Travis James Harker and wife Bridget of Springtown, TX; Mindy Hunter of Kansas City, MO; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
