HEIFER

Rhaina Emmons (at top)  of Wortham 4-H earned Overall Grand Champion for the 2024 Heifer Show.

The Overall Reserve Grand Champion title went to Jayci Phillips of Teague FFA.

Senior Grand Showmanship title was awarded to Avery Elizabeth Strait of Fairfield FFA; and Senior Reserve Showmanship went to Rhaina Emmons of Wortham 4-H for the second year in a row.

Junior Grand Showmanship title was earned by Arden Ellen Strait of Fairfield FFA for the second year in a row; and Junior Reserve Showmanship went to Sophie Craig of Teague FFA

American:

Grand Champion American Heifer was an Other exhibited by Rhaina Emmons of Wortham 4-H. Reserve Champion American Heifer was a Santa Gertrudis exhibited by Arden Ellen Strait of Fairfield FFA.

The Brahman Grand Champion Heifer was exhibited by Presley Dodd of Teague FFA, and Reserve Champion Brahman Heifer went to Anthony Fortoul of Wortham FFA.

Taking 1st in their class were Blaine Black of Teague FFA with 2 entries, Presley Dodd of Teague FFA with 2 entries, Rowdy Phillips of Teague FFA with 2 entries, Raymond Fortoul of Wortham FFA, and Anthony Fortoul of Wortham FFA.

The Santa Gertrudis Grand Champion was exhibited by Arden Ellen Strait. Reserve Champion Santa Gertrudis went to Avery Elizabeth Strait, both of Fairfield FFA.

Earning 1st in their class were both young ladies. Arden with 2 entries and Avery with 3 entries.

The American Other Grand Champion was exhibited by Rhaina Emmons of Wortham 4-H. Reserve Champion for American Other was also awarded to Rhaina Emmons with her second entry.

Taking 1st in their class were Rhaina Emmons with both entries, Elizabeth Pillans of Fairfield FFA, and Kynlee Grabs of Teague FFA.

Earning 2nd in their class were Payton Higdon of Fairfield FFA, Tanner Wilkins of Wortham FFA, and Sophie Craig of Teague FFA.

Garnering 3rd in their class was Kameryn Thompson of Teague FFA.

British:

Grand Champion English Heifer was presented to Makenna Eppes of Fairfield FFA. Reserve Champion English Heifer went to Kaden Brockman of Teague 4-H.

There were no other entries this year for British heifers.

Exotic:

Grand Champion Continental Heifer is awarded to Jayci Phillips of Teague FFA, Reserve Champion Continental Heifer went to Peyton Johnson of Fairfield FFA.

Taking 1st in their class were Peyton Johnson with 2 entries, Jayci Phillips, and Jaci Eppes of Fairfield FFA.

Earning 2nd in their class were Cullen Fryer of Teague FFA, Peyton Johnson with a 3rd entry, and Ally Farmer of Fairfield FFA.

Garnering 3rd in their class were Plake Phillips of Fairfield FFA and Ally Farmer with a 2nd entry.

Non-Registered:

Grand Champion Commercial Heifer was presented to Ally Farmer of Fairfield FFA; Reserve Champion Commercial Heifer went to Kaselynn Brooke of Freestone Community 4-H.

These were the only two entries in this division. Both took first place in their class.

 

SWINE/GILT

Grand Champion Breeding Swine was presented to Cayson Barlow of Freestone Community 4-H;

and the Reserve Champion Breeding Swine went to Kenna Coufal of Fairfield 4-H.

Senior Grand Showman was earned by Gracie Robinson of Fairfield 4-H. The Senior Reserve Showman went to Kloie Chambers of Fairfield 4-H.

Junior Grand Showman was Ava Campbell of Fairfield 4-H, and Junior Reserve Showman was Kenna Coufal.

Breeding Swine were shown by weight:

Taking 1st in their weight class were Brock York of Wortham 4-H, Hunter Isaacs of Fairfield 4-H, Obie Crook of Fairfield 4-H, and Cayson Barlow.

Placing 2nd Place in their weight class were Blake Phillips of Fairfield FFA, Kloie Chambers, Max Campbell of Fairfield 4-H, and Kenna Coufal.

Earning 3rd in their weight class were Jaylin Flowers of Fairfield FFA, Gracie Robinson, Finley Davis-Crump of Fairfield 4-H, and Christopher Herrera of Teague FFA.

4th in their weight class were Toby Tucker of Teague FFA, Ava Campbell, Ameeya Rhodes of Wortham FFA, and Macey Wood of Teague FFA.

Taking 5th were Mason Baillio of Fairfield 4-H, Peyton Williams of Teague FFA, Adalyn Peterson of Fairfield FFA, and Easton Driskell of Fairfield 4-H.

Earning 6th were Toby Tucker with a second entry, Rowdy Phillips of Teague FFA, Eli Gilbert of Teague FFA, and Emma Davis-Crump.

Placing 7th were Addison Olivarez, Carson Olivarez, and Cadi Van Cleve, all of Teague FFA.

 

LAMB

Earning Grand Champion Breeding Lamb in the 2024 show is Hunter Issacs of Fairfield 4-H.

Haisley Layne of Freestone Community 4-H won Reserve Grand Champion Breeding Lamb.

Senior Grand Showmanship was awarded to Cole Coufal of Fairfield FFA. Senior Reserve Showmanship went to Cason Jackson of Teague FFA.

Haisley Layne won Junior Grand Showmanship and Junior Reserve Showmanship went to Hunter Issacs.

–Under 1 Year: 1st – Madison Russell of Fairfield FFA, 2nd –Cole Coufal, 3rd – Cason Jackson, 4th – Hunter Isaacs with a second entry, and 5th – Lexi Chapman of Wortham 4-H.

–One to Two Year: 1st – Hunter Isaacs, 2nd – Haisley Layne with a second entry, 3rd – Hunter Isaacs with a third entry, 4th – Ella Coufal of Fairfield 4-H, 5th – Lexi Chapman with a second entry, 6th – Kaylie Ridge of Fairfield FFA, and 7th – Coleman Davison of Fairfield FFA.

–Two Year Plus: 1st – Haisley Lyne, 2nd – Hunter Isaacs with a fourth entry, 3rd – Davie Pickens of Fairfield FFA, 4th – Kinsley White of Fairfield FFA, 5th – Shelby Prasil of Teague FFA, 6th – Lexi Goodson with Freestone Community 4-H, 7th & 8th – Kaylie Ridge with a second and third entry.

 

GOATS

In the goat breeding competition, both the Grand Champion,

and Reserve Champion titles were earned by Haisley Layne of Freestone Community 4-H, who also won Junior Grand Showmanship.

Senior Grand Showmanship winner was Leynie Horton of Teague FFA.

–Under 1 Year: 1st – Mary Green of Freestone Community 4-H, 2nd – Coleman Davidson of Fairfield FFA, and 3rd – Savannah Stutts of Fairfield 4-H.

–One to Two Years: 1st & 2nd – Haisley Layne with two entries and 3rd – Leynie Horton.

 

SINGLE FRYER RABBITS

Audrey Roller of Fairfield FFA was named Grand Champion Single Fryer Rabbit.

Reserve Champion Single Fryer Rabbit was awarded to Bailee Preston of Teague 4-H.
