The Teague Lions built a big lead at the end of the quarter and they finished off the regular season and will face an old foe in the first round of the playoffs.

Teague got a spark from a lineman for the opening score of the game.  Offensive tackle Jacob Maggard took the handoff in the backfield in the heavy package for the Lions.  He scored on a four-yard run and the Lions never looked back.

Tailbacks Tayvis Coleman, in limited action and Jelico Green each scored a touchdown in the first half and Logan Escobar hauled in a 50-yard touchdown pass to close out the half.

The second half was just finishing up and Palestine Westwood scored a couple of time to set the score at 35-13.

Teague goes in as the top seed in the playoffs from District 9-3A Division I.  They will face the Cameron Yoemen for the fourth consecutive year.  The Yoe have ended the Lions’ season in deeper rounds and Cameron finished fourth in District 10.  The game is set for 7pm at Robinson High School.

In other games in the district, Groesbeck will host the Franklin Lions on Thursday, Malakoff and Rockdale will play and West will take on McGregor.
