Community Hospital Consulting and the Fairfield Hospital District Board of Directors have named John Yeary as CEO of Freestone Medical Center, Fairfield, Texas. He assumed this role on August 1, 2018 after serving as Interim CEO since March. Freestone Medical Center is a 37-bed community hospital located in Fairfield, Texas.

“We are excited to have John fully on board to lead Freestone Medical Center and continue the hospital’s mission to serve area residents with quality healthcare for years to come,” said Craig Sims, senior vice president of Hospital Operations for Community Hospital Corporation (CHC) of Plano, Texas. CHC Consulting, the management and consulting arm of CHC, manages the hospital.

Since joining Freestone Medical Center, Yeary has enhanced board, physician and staff relationships, while also developing close community ties through Rotary Club and church activities, and umpiring for the area’s Dixie Youth Baseball.

Formerly, Yeary served on the administrative staffs of Hendrick Health System, Abilene, Texas, Rapides Regional Medical Center, Alexandria La., U.T. Southwestern Medical Center and Liberty Health Services of Dallas, Eastland Memorial Hospital, Eastland, Texas, Shelby Regional Medical Center, Center, Texas and DeSoto Regional Health System, Mansfield, La. From 2010 to 2016, he served as manager then CEO/Owner of Regional Health Services, LLC, a durable medical equipment company headquartered in Alexandria, La.

Yeary holds a Master of Science degree in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University—San Antonio, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Hardin-Simmons University, Abilene, Texas. He is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
