Funeral services for Jimmy Nanny, age 81, were held on Sunday, October 22, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at the Cowboy Heritage Church of Freestone County, 309 U.S. Hwy 84 W., Teague, Texas 75860. Bro. Jimmy Cotton officiated. Interment followed the services at Greenwood Cemetery in Teague.

Visitation was held on Saturday with the family present from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague.

Mr. Nanny passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017, at the Freestone Medical Center in Fairfield.

He was born in Donie, Texas on June 19, 1936, to Clovis & Lois Williams Nanny. Mr. Nanny was an avid rancher all of his life and spent seventeen years working for TXU before retiring. Jimmy was best known for being a cowboy. He married Carolyn on November 24, 1962, and shared almost fifty-five years of marriage together. He was a member of the Teague Rodeo Association for fifty-five years and worked as a pickup man during many of those years. Jimmy always looked forward to attending the rodeo. He spent every Tuesday afternoon playing dominoes with friends at Turner Feed Store in Donie and no one dared interrupt those games! Mr. Nanny loved spending time with his grandkids and they enjoyed having those times with him. He attended the Cowboy Church of Freestone County.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Nanny; two daughters, Selina Nanny, and Amy Curry & husband Larry all of Teague; three granddaughters, Katy Curry of Teague, Elayna Garza & husband Branden of Deer Park, and Shanleigh Curry of Teague; one brother, Joe Ed Nanny & wife Kathy; special cousin, Debbie Williams; numerous other relatives and many friends.

Mr. Nanny was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Delaney Curry; one sister, Pat McGee; two nephews, Josh Nanny and Patrick Watson; and one niece, Becky Watson.
