Scott Watson Marsters, Sr.
Scott grew up surrounded by NASA (JSC) Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo Astronauts, in a quaint neighborhood called Timber Cove, oftentimes referred to as the astronauts' Beverly Hills. He spent his summers in Fairfield, Texas at the WX Ranch, which is steep in Freestone County History.
As Publisher of the Freestone County Times, Scott keeps the office motivated and provides touches to this multi-award winning newspaper.
Scott is a proud member of the Sons of the American Revolution, Sons of the Republic of Texas, and Sons of the Confederate Veterans. He revels in being on the water, ranching, and educating.
Karen Elizabeth Leidy
Karen inherited a gaggle of cousins when she moved to Freestone County at the age of 12. In high school, she followed her mother's footsteps when she became editor of the Fairfield High School newspaper, the Eagle Beat.
As co-founder and Editor of The "Times," Karen wears many hats, including reporting, page layout and even creating ad campaigns, on occasion.
Karen likes to cook, garden and play Minecraft with her grandson.
She also enjoys creating Yard Art and Home Décor from old lamps and thrift store finds.
