BOERNE – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and Cibolo Nature Center and Farm will present an educational Deer Camp Oct. 28 in Boerne.

The camp will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Cibolo Nature Center’s Herff Farm, located at 33 Herff Road.

“This is a unique educational camp for those interested in hunting deer, wild hogs and quail and how to dress and prepare food from those animals,” said Jana Osbourn, AgriLife Extension family and consumer sciences agent for Kendall County.

Interactive workshops during the day will address field dressing deer and wild hogs, Dutch oven cooking, freezer wrapping and storing, jerky and sausage making, wild game tamales, bird processing, Boone and Crockett scoring and more.

The cost will be $55 per person or $100 per couple and will include a variety of interactive educational programs and a wild game lunch.
