You are invited to join and visit the elderly after we found a senior assisted living facilities here for them to be well taken care of, who do not get to spend the holiday amongst friends and family, at 2:00 p.m. Christmas Day at Fairview Nursing Home in Fairfield, located at 601 E. Reunion Street.

“We will be distributing collected donations and loving on and bringing joy to the ‘forgotten generation’ of our local community,” says organizer, Anna Landry.

Below is a list of recommended items for both residents and staff, because when the staff is happy, so are the residents:

RESIDENTS

–Shower Supplies (body wash, lotions, deodorant, sprays, etc.)

–Crafts (color books, crayons, yard, plastic canvas, etc.)

–Grooming Supplies (toothbrushes, hair brushes, combs, etc.)

–Baby dolls and clothes for baby dolls

–Hats, scarves, NON-SLIP SOCKS

–Sugar free snacks (summer sausage, crackers, popcorn)

–Night Gowns XS-XXXL

–Ear Plugs/Ear Muffs

–Puzzles

–Toy Cars

–Magnifying mirror

–Sweaters XS-XXXL

STAFF

–Shoe Insoles (sizes 8-12)

–Back braces

–Pocket sized items (lotion, antibacterial, chocolate candy, pens)

–Quality Kleenex

–Keurig coffee maker and supplies

Any monetary donations will be given directly to the home to be used by the Activities Director, as needed for the residents.

The elderly LOVE children!  You are encouraged to bring your youth to visit with and help distributer gifts on Christmas Day at 2:00 p.m.

“Let’s teach our young ones to respect their elders,” says Anna.
