Teague ISD Superintendent, Dr. Nate Carman, has been selected as the new Superintendent for San Benito CISD.

TISD Board of Trustees voted to accept Carman’s resignation on August 31st.

President of the Board, Jeff Gonzales, explained that retired superintendent, Ray Matthews, has been hired to serve as interim until a new superintendent can be found.

The district has entered a contract with the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Executive Search Service and plan to hire by November 30th.

“The process is very preliminary at this point,” says Gonzales. “We are asking the public to get involved in setting the requirements for our new superintendent.”

Teachers and parents are encouraged to fill out a survey that can be found on the district’s website at www.teagueisd.org before September 21st.

“Dr. Carman was very beneficial to our district,” says Gonzales. “The shape we are in with the curriculum, instruction, and financials has a lot to do with him and all his hard work.”

Gonzales continues saying, “We plan to continue to move forward. Our goal is to employ a superintendent that will work well with the students, technology advancement, and the district.”

“Teague is truly blessed to be led by a school board whose members want the very best for all Teague students,” says Carman. “The TISD faculty and staff are a hardworking, dedicated group of people who work together to provide high quality educational experiences for our students.”

Carman concludes, “The Teague community is one of the most supportive communities any school district could hope for. I have no doubt TISD will continue to flourish and provide the best education in the area.”
