Placing Fifth in State is Fairfield Lady Eagle, Jamiesha Fields, who competed at the State Powerlifting Meet in the 114 pound weight class.

The Freestone County Competitors, from both Fairfield and Teague, began the Girls State Powerlifting event with weigh-ins on Thursday evening, March 14, 2019.
Two athletes earned state medals by the end of the State Championship on Saturday, March 15, 2019.
Fairfield’s Jamiesha Fields brought home a 5th place State medal in the 114 weight class. She completed 280 in squat, 125 in bench, and 315 in deadlift for a total of 720 pounds.
This is the first state medal for the Fairfield Lady Eagles since 2009.
Teague Lady Lion, Bekah Parks brought home a 2nd place State medal in the 220 weight class. She completed 470 in squat, 225 in bench, and 340 in deadlift for a total of 1,035 pounds.
Also participating were Fairfield Lady Eagles, Madi Isaacs (132 weight class) and Tylie Bruce (181 weight class).
The Women’s Powerlifting State Championship was held at the Extraco Events Center in Waco on Friday, March 14th and Saturday, March 15th.
