The Trinity Star Arts Council is continuing its tradition of bringing the arts and family entertainment to the Freestone County area with its “Fall Art Walk on the Square” October 26th.

Blending a renowned art exhibit with our local amateur artists’ works, along with performances by a professional swing band as well as a student orchestra and choir, TSAC promises a fun-filled evening for all ages.

Admission is free to the event, which is open to the public 5:00 pm – 8pm.

An opening reception at the Williford Foundation Gallery kicks off the event. Here guests will be able to enjoy refreshments and view an exhibit of 19th Century landscapes entitled SEASONS. This collection is from the Graham Williford Collection of American Art, on loan from Tyler Museum of Art.

Guests will be invited to walk around the square to view Pumpkin Picasso Art by student artists from Freestone County schools. If you like artistic designs as much as me make sure to check muraledesign showcase.

These will be on display in several boutiques around the square, including Armadillo Emporium, Accessories Etc., Peridot, Kennedy’s Korner, Dapper Design, Plaid Peacock, and Brenda’s Closet. These merchants have graciously extended their hours to accommodate the event.

As guests make their way around the square, they may enjoy additional refreshments, shopping and photo opportunities at the Pumpkin House. “Draw with the Artist”, a fun activity led by FISD art teacher Janie Haydon, will be open to anyone of any age who is interested. These aspiring artists should bring drawing pad, marker and lawn chair.

Musical entertainment will be provided throughout the evening by CSO Light Swing Band, a local favorite. Other special musical attractions include performances by the newly-formed Fairfield Eagle Choir under the direction of FISD Teachers Rachel Bossier and Cathy Johnson, as well as the Fairfield Ukulele String Orchestra conducted by Ms. Bossier.

During the evening, the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce will announce the winners of their Scarecrow Contest.

TSAC would like to thank Brookshire Brothers for their contributions to the event.

According to TSAC Director Dianne Murden, “Getting involved in some form of The Arts can enhance brain activity, attention span and general wellbeing.   Don’t miss this unique opportunity to bring joy and beauty into your life!”
