The week was a tale of two games, but both were Eagle wins and Fairfield leads the district race and the end of the first half of games.

Tuesday, the Fairfield Eagles hosted the Madisonville Mustangs in a pivotal game.  What the night finished with was a dominating performance in a 75-38 win.  Akeem Jackson had a huge game with 30 points and 12 rebounds.

Jackson hit a three from the top  of the key for the early lead.  Deonte McAdams scored an early basket but it was the Eagles soaring in the first moments.  Jackson scored three more times to reach double digits in the four minutes.  Jailyn Tatum scored on a couple of drives to the basket and E. J. Ransom scored a couple of times near the end of the period, including a long range bomb for a 19-8 lead after one.

Tatum dished off a couple of highlight assists for scores to Jase Oliver and Jackson and the Eagles continued to build a big lead with a 9-0 run in the first four minutes of the second period.  Jackson another three for a 31-10 lead.  Jackson scored 21 in the first half and the Eagles led 42-20.

Fairfield outscored the Mustangs 35-18 in the second half to cruise to the 75-38 win.

The Eagles travelled to Athens and came away with a 67-65 win over the fourth place Hornets.  Jackson scored 16 points to complete his stellar week and three others scored in double figures.  Kolby Adams and Ransom scored 12 and Tatum added 11 points.
