The Fairfield Eagles needed to get off to an early start to beat Palestine.  The start and the finish were enough to take out the Wildcats.

Fairfield (2-1) used the running and passing offense to race past the Palestine Wildcats at Eagle Field on Friday.

Fairfield took the opening kickoff and fumbled at midfield and the Wildcats took over at the Fairfield 48.  The Eagle defense stiffened and forced Palestine to punt.

Following a scoreless first quarter, the Eagle offense used the last of the first quarter and the first few plays of the second quarter.

Kolbe Branch had a 27 yard touchdown run called back on a holding penalty, but six plays later, Kadarius Walker punched it in on a three yard run.  The extra point was good and the Eagles led 7-0.

FAIRFIELD EAGLE #12 Trevon McWilliams brings down the Palestine ball carrier.

The Eagle defense played well all night.  Trevan McWilliams spent the entire night in the Wildcat backfield and they forced a fumble on the second offensive snap of the second half.

It only took five plays for the Eagles to add to the lead.  Kam Ransom pushed his way in on a quarterback sneak and following the point after, the Eagles led 14-0.

Palestine could not muster much with the Eagle defensive masterpiece.  On a third down play, Tyler Hanes and Johnn Owens teamed up for a tackle for loss.

SOARING OVER THE PALESTINE WILDCATS to move the ball downfield is Quarterback for the Fairfield Eagles, #1 Kam Ransom, during the Varsity game at home on Friday.

The Wildcats moved the chains on a fake punt and later Wildcat quarterback Tyler Gray was picked off by Ulises Ramirez Rangel and he returned it 27 yards for the pick six touchdown and a 20-0 lead.

Fairfield would add a pair of scores in the final quarter.  Kam Ransom scored on a one yard run and JaShaughn Hatcher scored on a one yard run.

A late scoop and score on a fumble was the only Palestine points of the night.

The Fairfield Eagles have won the last two games and will return home to take on the Rusk Eagles.
