The City of Fairfield and Freestone County will kick off the Christmas season with its annual Christmas Celebration on Saturday, December 3, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Freestone County Courthouse Square.
Schedule of Events
–3:00 – Parade participants start lining up
–3:30 – The Christmas Story will be read
–4:00 – Parade Starts (Charlie Brown Theme)
–5:00 to 8:30 – Visit Santa and The Charlie Brown House (Ornament making for the new community Christmas tree, Letters to Santa, make your own Reindeer food for Rudolf) Petting Zoo, Face Painting, Stilt Walkers, and Kiddie Rides
–6:15 – Big Holiday Give-Away Winners/Announcements
–6:30 – Tree Lighting and LIVE Nativity Scene
On Sunday, December 4th, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., the River of Life LIVE Nativity Scene and petting zoo will be taking place again.
Fairfield Lake State Park will host its annual Christmas in the Park even on Saturday, December 10th from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.
The weekend of December 16-18th, the Ice Skating Rink will be in town. Friday hours are from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. On Saturday, the rink will be open from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m.; and Sunday hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Also on Saturday, December 17th, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., there will be Jingle All the Way, Santa, Hat Makers, Winter Wonderland Surprise, Face Painting, and a Wreath Giveaway; an on Sunday, December 18th, the LIVE Nativity Scene and petting zoo will be back from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
