It’s County Fair Week!

Home & Garden Show projects have been judged, and are on display now at the W.L. Moody Reunions Grounds.

Pushwater opened the week with a live performance Monday evening under the pavilion, pint-sized cowboys and cowgirls competed in the Stick Bull and Barrel Race in the Ike Carden Arena, and the kick-off parade through downtown Fairfield got it all started with this year’s theme:  “Take the Plunge, Kick up your heels and get Ready to Rock!”

As this week’s edition was being delivered to newsstands, the Go-Texan Washers / Horseshoe tournament is underway, and the scholarship pageant is crowning the new Miss Teen and Miss Freestone County.  Check back next week for pictures.

There is lots still to do at the County Fair.  Here are some of the highlights:

Musical Lineup

Thursday:  Steve Idlett and Down & Out

Friday:  Jerrett Zoch and the OSR Band

Saturday:  The Lanky Moore Band

When it comes to music, some people are watchers, some are dancers and some just want to gather around.

Changes have been made to the pavilion area in order to give everyone plenty of room to enjoy.

The stage will now be on the north end of the pavilion (closer to the green barn) and there will be no cars parked all along the sides. The grassy area is expanding just a little to the south and a little to the west of the pavilion.

Everyone is welcome to bring out lawn chairs and blankets to sit on.
