Freestone County Commissioners lifted the burn ban for the time being at their September 6, 2017 meeting.

The burn ban is an issue that is addressed at each meeting, and therefore is subject to change on a weekly basis. To keep up-to-date, visit the County’s website at www.co.freestone.tx.us before burning to make sure you do not get fined during a burn ban.

Also at this meeting, Commissioners approved holidays for the 2018 fiscal year. These include the following:

–Thanksgiving – November 23 & 24, 2017
–Christmas – December 25 & 26, 2017
–New Years – January 1, 2018
–MLK, Jr. Day – January 15, 2018
–President’s Day – February 19, 2018
–Good Friday – March 30, 2018
–Memorial Day – May 28, 2018
–Independence Day – July 4, 2018
–Labor Day – September 3, 2018

Annual Salaries for County Auditor, First Assistant County Auditor, and Part-Time Assistant County Auditor were set as follows: Auditor – $57,085.34; First Assistant – $38,029.16; and Part-Tim Assistant – $21,750.00.
