Rose Gilbreath

Rose Gilbreath, 60 of Fairfield, TX passed away Sunday morning at East Texas Medical Center in Fairfield. She was born January 12,1956 in Corpus Christi to Thomas and Mildred Rayborn. Rose was a Realtor and was very active in the real estate industry. She was active with and loved her church family. The door of her home was always open and the coffee pot going for anyone who stopped by. Over the years Rose served as an advocate of troubled women. She loved people and had a heart of gold. Rose enjoyed bird watching, listening to live music, sewing, cooking and reading. She loved spending time with her husband, children and her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She is preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Rayborn; brother Stephen Craig Rayborn. She is survived by her loving husband Russell Gilbreath; children, Jasmine and Pressly Bonner of Kaufman, Jessica and Matt Burk of Wylie, Jordan and Greg Jackson of Fort Worth, Jaelan and John Mincey of Albuquerque, NM. Six grandchildren Aaron Bonner, Christopher, Clara and Valerie Burk, Elleri and Brooks Jackson. John Henry Young, Jr.

  John Henry Young Jr., 74, of Surprise, Arizona, passed away at 3:43 am, Thursday, December 22, 2016, at the Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center surrounded by his family. Born March 5, 1942, in Streetman, Texas, he was the son of the late John Henry Young Sr. and Velma Mae Evans and brother to George and Brady Young. John is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jacqueline “Jackie” Young; two daughters, Melanie Boulden and Monique Young; and granddaughter, Maya Boulden. John also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends. John attended Doan High School in Fairfield, Texas and graduated in 1960. He had a very successful high school career as an all-district basketball player and all-state high jumper. Following high school, he attended Midwestern State University on a four-year athletic scholarship. John graduated in 1966, with a Bachelor of Science degree in both secondary education and physical education with a minor in history. John was a member of Midwestern’s basketball team. In 1965, his senior year, John led his team to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Tournament and was named an NAIA All-American for scoring over 1,700 points in his college career.   Sergio Oregon, 22 of Buffalo, passed away December 31, 2016. He was born September 21, 1994. He enjoyed playing soccer and he also played football and ran track at Fairfield High School. He is preceded in death by his uncle, Manuel Rosales; aunt Leticia Portilla. He is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn Oregon; 2 sons, Christian and Alan Oregon.               The Angelic Hosts came for Lewis “Mr. Man” “Big Lou” Randle in the early morning of Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at the Mile Marker 188, of I45 in Teague, Texas.  Viewing was at the Funeral Home, Wednesday, December 21 with a Vigil Service from attended by the family. Funeral Services were held Thursday, December 22 at in the First Baptist Church, 209 N. 6th Ave, Downtown Teague. Officiating was Elder Frederick Miles and Bro. Cleo Phillips. Interment was in the Grove Island Cemetery, Teague.  Lewis was the 5th child born to Mary Lou Randle and Lewis Joe Johnson on June 16, 1959 in Teague, Texas. He completed his public school education in the Teague Public School System. Mr. Randle was a faithful brother in the West Side Church of Christ in Teague and served the church as Song Leader.  His career took him to employment with the Coca Cola Bottling Co. in Houston, the Burlington Northern Railroad, and to his retirement from The Texas Department Of Criminal Justice after 19 years, 7 months, and 1 day of service. He had a passion for Food Service, and a FOOD TRUCK that featured barbeque and other specialties.  He was an avid Dallas Cowboy Fan, and followed the team passionately. Malcolm Mims Wood

              Malcolm Mims Wood, 86, of Fairfield, died Friday, December 23, 2016 in Fairfield.  Services were held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Ramsey officiating.  Interment followed at Fairfield Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Sheldon Williams, Drew Williams, Charles Wood, John Wood Richter, Steve Wilson and Chris Schultz.  Honorary bearers were S. R (Dickie) Hill, Jr. Bill Minchew, Roy Casey, Jr. and Frank Morton  Malcolm was born June 20, 1930 in Houston, TX to parents Mims M. and Mary Catherine Christopher Wood.  He graduated in 1949 from Fairfield High School and later attended Sam Houston State University.  Malcolm served his country in the U. S. Navy from 1950 to 1954.  He was the owner of Wood Appliance Service in Fairfield.  He was past President of Fairfield Rotary Club and Past President and board member of the Fairfield I.S.D. from 1972 to 1987.  Malcolm was a member of First Baptist Church and served as a Deacon from 1973 to 2016.  During the 1970’s Malcolm served his community as a volunteer fireman.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, William (Bill) Richard Wood and James Donald Wood.
