Purple and Gold took over the streets of downtown Teague, Texas this past weekend, as former students of Booker T. Washington and J.A. Brooks schools took to the streets with a lively parade.

There were 4-wheelers, motorcycles, floats and even a tractor.

Parade entries represented graduating classes, alumni chapters, and a least one large, boisterous family.

Members of the Teague Lions High School Band blasted some excellent tunes during the parade, as well.

“Continuing the Generational Legacy of Excellence” was the theme for this year’s gathering.

Celebrating their 18th Reunion, the BTW/JA Brooks Alumni Association hosted a three-day event.

Former students, and their families, enjoyed a fun and “Fabulous Hat & Cap Show” on Friday, an indoor picnic (following the Saturday parade), and a special banquet Saturday night that honored the 50th Anniversary for the Class of 1967.

On Sunday, a Memorial Service was held to remember fellow student who have passed.

With the exception of the parade, all alumni weekend events were held at Teague High School campus, courtesy of Teague Independent School District.

Until next time!
