Teague resident, Martin (Mo) Kalvin Buchanan, 59, was arrested May 9, 2017 following the execution of a search warrant at Freestone Boxing Club, located at 711 Highway 84 near Teague city limits.

Freestone County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from Teague PD and Tri-County Auto Task Force recovered more than seven pounds of marijuana, pharmaceutical narcotics, mushrooms, four firearms, and $4,900 in cash.

In addition, two trailers and a zero-turn mower, reported as stolen out of Johnson County, were also recovered.

Buchanan was booked into Freestone County Jail and charged with the following for a total of $290,000 in bail:

–Theft of Property >$2,500 <$30,000 with $25,000 bail

–Manufacturing and Delivery of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2 or 2-A with $100,000 bail

–Possession of Marijuana >5 lbs <=50 lbs with $50,000 bail

–Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon with $$25,000 bail

–Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 >=1G <4G with $20,000 bail

–Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2 >=1G <4G with $20,000 bail

–Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 3 >=28G <200G with $50,000 bail

“I’m proud of our law enforcement tonight,” states Sheriff Jeremy Shipley. “This teamwork led to a large quantity of drugs being removed from our streets and firearms taken out of dangerous hands.”

Assisting with the search warrant execution were FCSO Lieutenant Willis, Lieutenant Aldrich, Deputy Cordova, Deputy Howerton, Reserve Deputy Mike Noll, Teague PD Chief Ramsey and Sergeant Mason, and the Auto Task Force team.
