Lions Offense Explodes for Playoff Win

The Teague Lions rolled up nearly 400 yards of offense in the first half and cruised to a berth in the final four of Region III in the 3A Division I state playoffs. Teague dominated the East Chambers Buccaneers on Friday night at Woodforest Stadium in Shenandoah and will move on take on the Franklin Lions Friday night at Waco ISD Stadium. The Lions never trailed and controlled the line of scrimmage the entire night. Eagles Fall in Overtime 35-34

The Fairfield Eagles battled into overtime only to fall by a single point to the Bellville Brahmas in Madisonville on Saturday night. The Eagles end the season at 6-6. Fairfield dug out of a 14-0 deficit to tie the game at 14-14 and worked toward their first lead of the game with just over a minute to go, only to see the game go into overtime. LIONS CRUISE BY YOEMEN…FINALLY 40-14 It took four years and minimal therapy but the Teague Lions raced past the Cameron Yoemen for the first time in the last four years at Robinson High School. EAGLES SOAR PAST BUFFALOES 41-2 The Fairfield Eagles built a big lead and coasted into the area round of the state playoffs with a 41-2 win over the Giddings Buffaloes at College Station Friday night. The Eagles had lost their final two games of the season and went from first to fourth, but a fourth place finisher eliminated a district champion. All four district nine teams won their game, totally eliminating the district ten playoff teams. Eagles Drop from First to Fourth in Season Finale

A.J. Brem from Lorena hit a field goal with just seconds remaining and that sent the Fairfield Eagles from the top seed to the fourth seed in District 9-4A Division II.
