Alumni Celebrate History

Kids on bikes, antique cars and trucks, sports cars, floats and more made their way through downtown Fairfield on Saturday morning, July 8th, in celebration of the Dogan Alumni Reunion Weekend. The parade kicked off at 10 a.m. at the Dogan campus, wound its way through downtown and around the Freestone County Courthouse before returning back to campus. Following the parade, at 11:30 a.m. a dedication ceremony was held to reveal the new State of Texas Historical Marker that took four years of hard work to obtain. Fire at Fairfield Residence, Three VFDs Respond

Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department responded to a house fire call that came in shortly after 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, June 28, 2017. Glenn Simpson, owner of the home located at 357 McDonald Street in Fairfield, was prepping the home to put up for rent when an accidental fire started in the kitchen. Two Arrested in Shooting

Two Freestone County males were arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon following a shooting incident that occurred in Teague on Friday, June 22, 2017. According to an affidavit by Lieutenant Clayton Aldrich of the Freestone County Sheriff’s Office, he was contacted around 9:30 p.m. that evening by Lieutenant Robert Willis, of the same office, about a person that had possibly been shot who was in the Emergency Room at Freestone Medical Center in Fairfield.
