The Teague Lady Lions cruised to the regional quarterfinal with a pair of dominating wins over Blooming Grove and West.

The Bi-District game was held at The Highlands on the campus of McLennan Community College.  With a comfortable 30-15 lead at the half, the Lady Lions opened the lead up in the second.  They outpaced the blue Lady Lions 68-46 behind 25 points and 23 rebounds from Destanee Roblow.

The area round game was back at the Highlands and they were to face the West Lady Trojans.   Teague showed their strength from top to bottom and dominated West 53-26.  Roblow had another solid night with 17 points and 18 rebounds and Kadaja Nickleberry added 21 points.

Chris Nickleberry summed up the win and the run through the playoffs, “we missed some shots early on, but we kept hustling.  We got three, four different opportunities in one possession.  We average about 21 offensive rebounds per game, a whole lot.  We’re just scrappy and hustle.”

Teague will take on the Grandview Lady Zebras on Monday night at 7pm at Corsicana High School’s Tiger Gym.  A Lady Lion win advances them to their second straight berth in the Region III tournament at Waco Midway.

The Wortham Lady Bulldogs had a win over Valley Mills at Waco High 43-34.  The fell to state ranked LaPoyner at Corsicana High School by a 62-16 score.
