whs_art_show_031517The Wortham High School Arts will be hosting the 2nd annual Avant Guardian Art Show at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22nd.  It will be held at the WHS library this year due to the overwhelming crowd that attended last year.
This year’s show will include artwork from WJH Art students, WHS Art students and WISD Staff as well.
WHS Choir will perform several selections; The WHS Jazz Ensemble will be performing throughout the show, and the WHS Bulldog Bistro will provide gourmet snacks and will have various coffees, cappuccinos and espresso as well.
Wortham ISD Arts Programs are a vital part of our overall school community, and we like to show off the talents of our great students and staff.
WISD would like to thank Jennifer Paden, Laura Sides, Roxanne Vincent, Marc Nichelsen, Rachel Berg and Linda Ferris for making WISD Arts such a successful program.
This year’s guest judge will be Rolando Diaz.
Rolando is an internationally acclaimed Cuban- American artist, with collectors in the United States and abroad. He has also been able to paint live with celebrities such as Seth Simmons, BJ Thomas, Jewel, Amy Grant and more.
PBS produced a documentary on the artist which aired in the US, Russia, Canada and Puerto Rico.
Diaz believes his gifts are from God and to be used for good.
We would like to invite everyone to come to our show and help support the artists in our local community.
